Job description

The role is focused on developing critical components for Microsoft's high-scale experimentation platform, which supports AI-driven applications. You will work within the CoreAI team to enhance experimentation capabilities, enabling teams to evaluate and deploy innovations effectively. This position emphasizes building reliable infrastructure and mentoring engineers while driving technical excellence in distributed systems. You will also be responsible for ensuring system architecture meets performance and scalability requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Independently leverage AI tools and practices across the software development lifecycle, taking responsibility for AI-generated assets and coaching team members.
  • Lead by example to produce extensible, maintainable, well-tested, secure, and performant code.
  • Own and drive the architecture and design of product components, ensuring system architecture meets performance, scalability, resiliency, and disaster recovery requirements.
  • Collaborate with partner teams, PMs, and subject matter experts to determine customer requirements and deliver scalable, reliable features.
  • Drive engineering excellence through automation, tooling improvements, security best practices, and deployment infrastructure.
  • Maintain operations of live site services on a rotational on-call basis and implement solutions to complex live-site issues.
