Job description

The role is focused on strengthening Microsoft's Experimentation Platform, which is essential for high-scale online experimentation in AI systems. You will contribute to building reliable infrastructure that accelerates product learning and innovation across Microsoft's AI ecosystem. This position requires solving complex distributed systems challenges and applying experimentation methodologies. You will work closely with engineering teams to deliver user-centric features and improve system reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and building distributed systems.
  • Experience using observability tools to diagnose service issues and improve system reliability.
  • Experience with experimentation platforms and statistical methodologies for measuring product impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain clean, reliable, testable code using best practices.
  • Use AI tools responsibly across the SDLC and validate AI-generated changes.
  • Work with partner engineering teams and experts to understand requirements and deliver scalable features.
  • Build extensible and maintainable services with strong diagnosability and reliability.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot live-site issues.
  • Contribute to engineering and operational excellence through automation and process improvements.
