Job description

The Senior Software Engineer role at Windows Cloud Experiences (WCX) focuses on developing a leading virtual desktop infrastructure solution for Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop. This position involves enhancing security measures for user connections to cloud-based Windows PCs and modernizing authentication protocols. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, or C++.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Experience in modern security technologies such as OpenSSL, NCrypt, OpenID, Entra, WebAuth and Yubikey.
  • Experience in cyber security, responsible disclosure practices, and how to evaluate and mitigate risks.
  • Experience in Windows Internals and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Independently use appropriate artificial intelligence tools and practices across the software development lifecycle.
  • Lead by example to produce extensible, maintainable, well-tested, secure, and performant code.
  • Review product code and test code to ensure it meets team standards and contains the correct test coverage.
  • Use debugging tools, tests, logs, telemetry, and other methods to proactively verify assumptions while developing code.
  • Lead discussions for and own the architecture of products and solutions.
  • Develop design documents that support user stories and other product requirements.
  • Drive efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility.
  • Act as a designated responsible individual and guide other engineers in monitoring systems for degradation or downtime.
