Job description
Microsoft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Auction Logic team, focusing on building, testing, deploying, and monitoring the Monetize platform. The team aims to create an efficient digital marketplace connecting advertisers and publishers. This role involves leading engineering efforts, owning significant areas of the platform, and participating in setting the roadmap for development. The engineer will work on real-time components, optimizing software for performance and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- 5+ years of experience as a professional software developer is preferred.
- Experience using either C, C++, or Java, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Experience building high performance, multi-threaded, distributed systems and applications, preferably in a Linux environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-team engineering efforts to build business critical products for publishers and buyers.
- Design and implement scalable solutions including new features and enhancements of the platform.
- Participate in planning sessions with Product Management and Engineering team leads to construct feature requirements.
- Produce prototype features quickly and gather feedback from clients.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to increase code efficiency and maintainability.
- Support and debug production level issues and provide fixes in an expedient manner.
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices in software development.
