Job description

This role is part of a dynamic engineering group at Apple, focusing on the design, simulation, testing, and analysis of wireless power products. Candidates will work on highly technical topics related to power technology, particularly in designing inductive power links. The position requires a strong background in electromagnetics and familiarity with finite element analysis. This is an exciting opportunity for those who are passionate about innovation and eager to tackle new challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree.
  • Background in electromagnetics and a sound facility with Maxwell's equations.
  • Experience with COMSOL and/or Maxwell FEA simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with common lab equipment and measurement techniques including network analyzers, LCR meter, power supply/amplifiers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience in creating mathematical, computational, and numerical models for reduced order and complex thermal analysis.
  • Understanding of the physics of magnetic materials.
  • Working knowledge in heat transfer.
  • M.S. + 3 years experience or Ph.D. in material science or power electronics program, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, simulation, testing, and analysis of current and future wireless power products.
  • Create multi-physics models to help predict electrical performance related to wireless charging.
  • Conduct statistical analysis of design perturbations.
  • Develop and model transformer theory.
  • Engage in designing inductive power links with mass production intent.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
