Job description
The AVP, Middle Office - Client Relationship Manager is a key client-facing role focused on managing relationships with a dedicated portfolio of 'Long Tail' clients. This position emphasizes proactive engagement and addresses inquiries related to Trade Import/Export Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, and Guarantees. The role also involves identifying new trade finance opportunities and contributing to client retention. The individual will act as a vital link between clients and Citi's trade solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in client-facing roles within the banking, finance, or trade industries.
- Demonstrated strong client-facing skills, characterized by a proactive, personable, and service-oriented approach.
- Solid familiarity with Trade Finance/Documentary Trade products, including Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, and Guarantees.
- Experience or comfort with utilizing data and analytical tools for client insights and opportunity identification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to thrive and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly client-centric environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a designated portfolio of existing clients, efficiently managing daily inquiries concerning Trade Import/Export Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, and Guarantees.
- Cultivate and sustain robust client relationships, gaining an in-depth understanding of their ongoing trade finance requirements.
- Proactively engage with clients to pinpoint opportunities for new trade finance deals and tailored solutions.
- Initiate conversations with clients to explore potential new business and facilitate accurate price quoting for simple opportunities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the Sales team by strategically referring complex new deal opportunities for further development.
- Utilize internal data and analytical tools to identify client needs, monitor performance, and inform engagement strategies.
- Deliver exceptional client service, ensuring the timely and accurate resolution of all inquiries.
- Continuously develop and maintain a strong understanding of Citi Trade Product solutions.
