The Senior Software Development Engineer will join the AWS Data Center Engineering team, focusing on AI-powered design automation for global data center infrastructure. This role requires expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Ownership (AECO) industry. The engineer will lead the design and implementation of innovative solutions that enhance data center design workflows. This position offers a unique opportunity to bridge software engineering with domain expertise while mentoring junior engineers and driving technical discussions.

• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• 7+ years of experience developing Building Information Modeling (BIM) software solutions for the AECO industry
• 7+ years of full software development life cycle experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with AI/ML technologies and their practical applications in AECO industry problems
• Experience with BIM software platforms and APIs such as Autodesk Revit or similar AECO industry tools

• Design and architect scalable solutions for complex problems in the BIM and design automation space
• Lead the development of new features and services that deliver data center design projects faster
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following software engineering best practices
• Collaborate with applied scientists to productionize ML models for BIM and AECO applications
• Work closely with product, design, science, and AECO subject matter experts to deliver novel BIM and AI solutions
• Design and implement integrations between BIM platforms and AWS services
• Implement human-in-the-loop workflows that combine engineering expertise with AI automation
• Drive technical discussions and build consensus on architectural decisions within your team
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing
• Advocate for critical customers and stakeholders during team prioritization and planning
