Job description
The Software Integrity Engineer role at Apple focuses on validating and advancing location algorithms that power various Apple products. The position is part of the Sensing and Connectivity team, which combines GNSS, Cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth signals to enhance user experiences. The engineer will ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of these algorithms, impacting hundreds of millions of users. The role requires a deep understanding of GNSS positioning quality and involves sustaining the operational foundation of validation infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in GNSS testing, positioning validation, or wireless system verification.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
- Experience with GNSS/A-GNSS simulation equipment and live signal rooftop testing.
- Familiarity with QA methodologies and test automation strategy.
- Experience in debugging logs to triage and root-cause issues.
- Knowledge of the chipset validation lifecycle and A-GNSS protocols.
- Understanding of multi-constellation processing and sensor-fusion architectures.
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and novel genAI techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Measure, characterize, and improve the accuracy and reliability of location algorithms.
- Design experiments and build analysis pipelines for validation campaigns.
- Sustain the operational foundation of validation infrastructure.
- Own the health, configuration, and readiness of devices and test rigs.
- Drive cross-functional communications and manage dependencies.
- Develop automated test harnesses and data analysis tooling.
- Read and interpret 3GPP location-service specifications and verify conformance requirements.
- Present algorithm validation results to cross-functional audiences.
