Job description
The Principal Site Reliability Engineer will facilitate and orchestrate Data Recovery events, focusing on improving the observability and resilience of software and infrastructure. This role involves managing cloud and on-premise systems, performing SSL certificate management, and deploying highly distributed multitiered systems in AWS environments. The engineer will also design and execute performance tests, automate processes using scripting languages, and work with DevOps concepts including CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes. The position requires a strong emphasis on reliability strategies and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field and five years of experience as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer, or a Master's degree and three years of experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery platforms using uDeploy, Jenkins Core, Ansible AWX, and Terraform.
- Experience in multi-Cloud environments, particularly with Azure and AWS services.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Shell for software application deployments.
- Knowledge of configuring internet-facing networks and troubleshooting complex problems using tools like Splunk and Datadog.
Responsibilities

- Create and publish performance test results reports with recommendations for quality improvement.
- Maintain scalability and resiliency of complex environments.
- Implement advanced observability practices and techniques at scale.
- Manage and interpret large datasets using query languages and visualization tools.
- Advise senior leadership on reliability engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Perform independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple divisional initiatives.
- Develop innovative solutions to improve system availability, scalability, and performance.
- Design, implement, and maintain performance test frameworks.
