Job description
The Principal Software Engineer/Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain customer-facing software solutions using various technologies including Angular.js, React.js, and Node.js. This role involves working on complex projects and collaborating with architecture design teams to implement application-level architecture. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring QA readiness of software deliverables and mentoring junior team members. The position requires a strong focus on developing and securing web applications and APIs in a customer-facing environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in a related field and three years of experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated expertise in architecting, designing, and building web applications using JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience in automating end-to-end workflows and defining API integrations using tools like Jenkins and Docker.
- Proficiency in implementing, testing, and debugging secure Agile planning platforms and writing SQL stored procedures.
Responsibilities
- Participate in architecture design teams.
- Define and implement application-level architecture.
- Develop applications on complex projects and subsystems for the division.
- Recommend development testing tools and methodologies and review test plans.
- Ensure QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establish full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Meet project goals on time and on budget.
- Advise on risk assessment and management strategies for projects.
- Plan and coordinate project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Act as a primary liaison for business units to resolve project and technology issues.
- Provide technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates.
- Advise senior management on technical strategy.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Perform independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects.
- Develop original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts.
