Job description

The Principal Software Engineer/Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain customer-facing software solutions using various technologies including Angular.js, React.js, and Node.js. This role involves working on complex projects and collaborating with architecture design teams to implement application-level architecture. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring QA readiness of software deliverables and mentoring junior team members. The position requires a strong focus on developing and securing web applications and APIs in a customer-facing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in a related field and three years of experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in architecting, designing, and building web applications using JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience in automating end-to-end workflows and defining API integrations using tools like Jenkins and Docker.
  • Proficiency in implementing, testing, and debugging secure Agile planning platforms and writing SQL stored procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in architecture design teams.
  • Define and implement application-level architecture.
  • Develop applications on complex projects and subsystems for the division.
  • Recommend development testing tools and methodologies and review test plans.
  • Ensure QA readiness of software deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
  • Establish full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
  • Meet project goals on time and on budget.
  • Advise on risk assessment and management strategies for projects.
  • Plan and coordinate project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
  • Act as a primary liaison for business units to resolve project and technology issues.
  • Provide technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates.
  • Advise senior management on technical strategy.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Perform independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects.
  • Develop original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts.
