Job description
The Data Governance Analyst is part of the Enterprise Data Management Center of Excellence at Fidelity, focusing on executing data management and governance initiatives. This role involves coordinating governance activities, maintaining governance artifacts, and supporting cross-functional collaboration among data, technology, and business teams. The position offers an opportunity to develop foundational expertise in enterprise data governance and advance towards leadership roles. The team emphasizes the adoption of centralized standards and technology capabilities to enhance data governance practices across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, data governance, project coordination, business operations, or related roles
- Foundational understanding of data governance concepts such as data ownership, stewardship, data quality, metadata, lineage, and privacy
- Familiarity with data governance and data management tools
- Exposure to program or project management practices, with Agile familiarity being a plus
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day execution of data governance initiatives across various domains
- Assist in documenting governance policies, standards, procedures, and operating models
- Partner with data owners, stewards, analysts, and technology teams to capture requirements and decisions
- Contribute to consistent execution and follow-through across enterprise data governance efforts
- Assist in preparing status updates, dashboards, and leadership readouts
- Synthesize inputs from multiple teams into clear summaries
- Maintain visibility into workstream progress to support informed decision-making
- Support preparation of leadership and steering committee materials
