Job description
The Principal Data Engineer will design and develop modern data and analytics platforms in the Cloud, utilizing technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, AWS, and Python. This role focuses on building scalable data solutions and supporting compensation-related data for global clients. The engineer will work closely with engineers and business SMEs, employing Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices. The position also involves performing complex technical analyses and mentoring junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer in a financial services environment.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field and three years of experience as a Principal Data Engineer in a financial services environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing Cloud technologies within a financial services environment.
- Experience with advanced BI tools such as Oracle Analytics Server, Oracle Business Intelligence, and PowerBI.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining ETL pipelines using Snowflake, Python, SnapLogic, and Informatica.
Responsibilities
- Participate in data architecture design teams.
- Define and implement application-level data architecture.
- Develop data applications on complex projects for the division.
- Recommend data testing tools and methodologies and review test plans.
- Ensure QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establish full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Meet project goals on-time and on-budget.
- Advise on risk assessment and management strategies for projects.
- Plan and coordinate project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
