·FY 2025Job description
This role is for a multifaceted engineer within Apple's Silicon Technologies group, focusing on the development of system-level test programs for SoC devices. The engineer will work on characterizing the performance of high-speed IO PHYs, PLLs, and other custom HardIPs. Collaboration with various teams is essential to evaluate testability and support productization of next-generation SoCs. The position emphasizes the importance of statistical data analysis and failure analysis to ensure high-quality silicon characterization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 3 years of experience in testing and characterization of High-Speed IO PHYs, PLLs, and related electrical specifications.
- Understanding of Digital, Mixed Signal, and SoC devices.
- Experience with ATE production testing and hands-on ATE or bench experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with statistical data analysis tools.
Responsibilities
- Characterize parametric performance of High Speed IO PHYs, PLLs, Sensors, and other Custom HardIPs.
- Define characterization plans and perform statistical data analysis.
- Drive ATE-Bench correlation and data reviews across cross-functional teams.
- Work with DFT and design teams to evaluate IP testability and drive new silicon debug.
- Perform failure analysis to root-cause issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support productization of next-generation SoCs by collaborating with Design, Validation, Test engineering, DFT, Program Management, and Manufacturing.
- Complete yield and correlation analysis for all test insertions and support test time reduction related characterization activities.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
