Job description

The Staff Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) Engineer at Intel Foundry will lead the development and optimization of CMP processes across advanced technology nodes. This role is part of the Manufacturing Development Customer Engineering team, which focuses on transitioning cutting-edge technologies to high-volume production. The engineer will drive technical leadership and collaboration across various teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency and yield. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or process development.
  • 3+ years of direct experience in Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) process development.
  • Experience with major CMP equipment platforms such as AMAT or Ebara.
  • Experience with CMP consumables including slurries, pads, and clean chemistries.
  • Previous semiconductor foundry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead CMP process development from concept through high-volume manufacturing implementation.
  • Drive standardization and best practices across Intel's technology portfolio.
  • Own and resolve complex CMP-related yield and manufacturing issues.
  • Align technical strategies with customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Bridge technology development and manufacturing teams for smooth process transitions.
  • Drive ongoing optimization initiatives to enhance process capability and yield.
  • Collaborate with Integration, Device, Yield, Factory, Quality, and Customer Engineering teams.
  • Engage with suppliers to co-develop and optimize CMP solutions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
