Job description

The Staff Process Engineer - Dry Etch position at Intel's Manufacturing Development Customer Engineering (MDCE) team focuses on integration and device engineering across various technologies, including sub-3nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) FETs. This role is critical in bridging technology development and high-volume manufacturing, ensuring the success of foundry customers. The engineer will leverage extensive hands-on experience in dry etch processing to drive technology initiatives and optimize production output. Collaboration with various teams is essential to meet customer requirements and advance Intel's semiconductor solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or a STEM related field of study
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in the semiconductor industry with a strong focus on dry etch modules
  • Industry experience in process development, leadership, semiconductor process, or materials
  • Experience working with tool suppliers on optimization and customization for manufacturing needs
  • Extensive experience in a semiconductor fab with a technical track record in research and development, yield improvement, or defect reductions

Responsibilities

  • Drive technology development initiatives that enable high-volume manufacturing and future technology advancement
  • Provide comprehensive process integration and equipment solutions
  • Conduct feasibility studies to meet target device specifications
  • Lead design and development of sophisticated manufacturing processes, including material selection and parameter optimization
  • Optimize production output for existing products
  • Partner with key equipment and materials suppliers to develop enabling technology elements
  • Perform process technology feasibility studies using theoretical simulations and practical engineering methods
  • Stay current with industrial process and material manufacturing trends
  • Develop insights into future Intel process technology needs
  • Partner with the vendor ecosystem to build cost-sensitive technology roadmaps
  • Influence and drive technical direction across Intel and the broader industry
  • Develop and mentor technical leaders within the organization
  • Act as a change agent while modeling Intel values
  • Align organizational goals with technical vision and formulate strategic technical direction
  • Collaborate closely with Logic Technology Development and Technology and Foundry Supply Manufacturing teams
