The Sr. Software Development Engineer will join the Personalization & Guidance team at Amazon Advertising, focusing on building AI-native systems that enhance advertising effectiveness. This role emphasizes explainability in AI systems, ensuring that the reasoning behind recommendations is clear and accessible. The team tackles complex challenges in personalization, real-time machine learning inference, and multi-agent coordination. • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Build and maintain structured models of advertiser behavior, goals, and preferences at scale.
• Develop systems for real-time machine learning inference with tight latency constraints.
• Create explainable AI systems that provide auditable and legible automated decisions.
• Design APIs and contracts for multi-agent coordination in advertising workflows.
• Implement event-driven data pipelines for high-volume processing of advertising signals.
