Job description

The Platforms and Devices Silicon Engineer role focuses on SoC front-end and RTL design, contributing to the development of custom silicon solutions for Google's consumer products. The team aims to innovate hardware experiences that enhance performance and efficiency. Engineers will work closely with architects and software teams to define new IP and micro-architecture. This position is based in Mountain View, CA, and may allow for a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Silicon Engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a Silicon Engineer-related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience in microarchitectural development of IP development or SoC development, and RTL development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze system-on-chip (SoC) and custom IP for silicon designed for Google’s consumer devices.
  • Develop cutting-edge SoC and IP microarchitecture to ensure optimal power, performance, and area in the design.
  • Collaborate with architect and software teams to define new IP and its corresponding micro-architecture.
  • Engage in quality checks of front-end design, including writing RTL and running quality checks such as Lint, CDC/RDC, and synthesis.
  • Contribute to the development of methodology and tools to improve design efficiency to meet product requirements.
