Job description
The Principal Technical Program Manager will lead a team of Technical Program Managers to drive the strategy and execution of Azure's fleet lifecycle and cloud expansion efforts. This role involves partnering with Engineering, Operations, and Compliance to deliver scalable and secure platform capabilities. The position offers the opportunity to significantly impact Azure's growth and customer trust while fostering a high-performing and inclusive team culture. The focus will be on continuous improvement and innovation, particularly in the application of Generative AI.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years people management experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Build, grow, and retain a high-performing, inclusive team of Technical Program Managers.
- Provide strategic direction to cross-divisional teams partnering with Software and Hardware Engineering.
- Drive cross-divisional alignment on success criteria, business impact, and roadmap execution.
- Oversee end-to-end program execution, including roadmap delivery and dependency management.
- Partner with Engineering, Data Science, and other stakeholders to define and improve key performance metrics.
- Ensure teams own the customer supportability experience and drive improvements in system reliability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by validating use cases and running experiments.
- Champion scalable innovation, including the application of Generative AI and automation.
- Build and maintain strong executive and cross-organizational partnerships.
- Act as a visible culture and leadership exemplar, driving accountability and inclusion.
