Job description

The AI Factory Controls and Monitoring Engineer at NVIDIA will focus on supporting control system deployments within data centers. This role involves collaborating with product owners and technical leads to gather requirements and ensure adherence to global design standards. The engineer will also be responsible for adapting control system designs for AI Factory deployments and providing technical support to operations engineers. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of control systems in critical environments.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years of experience with control system design, development, and management on industrial or mission-critical systems
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, life safety, and IT networking systems associated with critical environments
  • Understanding of OPC-UA and Modbus protocols and their integration
  • Experience with equipment commissioning, testing, or related activities
  • Experience with startup and configuration of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and SCADA workstations
  • Strong understanding of Sequence of Operations (SOO) for mechanical system control
  • Ability to travel 15-25%

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to identify and collect requirements for next-generation data centers
  • Support the global design standards for the data center controls and monitoring system
  • Adapt control system reference designs and standards to AI Factory deployments
  • Evaluate control system technical aspects from site selection to operations including contractor selection and bid package development
  • Provide technical support to data center operations controls engineers
  • Support IT to OT data integration for various applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modify control settings and alarm thresholds
