Job description

As a Device Software Development Engineer on the Amazon Leo for Government team, you will design and develop embedded software for satellite and ground systems. This role focuses on creating fault-tolerant, real-time platforms that support critical government initiatives. You will work closely with hardware, systems, and product teams to deliver secure and high-performance solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the next generation of space-based communication systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards and testing
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for satellite and ground terminal systems
  • Leverage modern application frameworks for Embedded Linux and RTOS platforms
  • Implement and integrate software for data processing, device control, and networking protocols
  • Debug and resolve complex hardware-software integration issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless hardware-software interaction
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
