The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead the manufacturing of AI servers and systems based on Trainium chips, working within the Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability Team at AWS Annapurna Labs. This role focuses on enhancing machine learning products and ensuring high performance at low cost. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and external partners to drive product definition, execution, and testing in manufacturing. They will also be responsible for implementing best practices in a complex supply chain environment.

• 7+ years of root cause analysis and process design experience
• 7+ years of new product introduction (NPI) experience
• Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM field
• 5+ to 8+ years in SMT and PCBA process engineering, including high-volume production
• Deep knowledge of SMT line processes including stencil, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow, AOI, and X-ray
• Expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT)
• Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred
• Expert knowledge of IPC-A-610H, J-STD-001H, IPC-A-600, and IPC-7711/21
• Strong experience with SMT lines and testing methodologies
• Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems and ERP/MES systems

• Work with the Design Engineering team to provide PCB/PCBA DFM feedback and identify manufacturing challenges early in product development
• Identify opportunities for risk reduction and simplification of PCBA manufacturing processes
• Deliver manufacturing process capabilities including equipment capability, quality controls, and standardized rework practices
• Investigate and develop new manufacturing technology and methodologies to enhance PCBA quality, reliability, throughput, and cost
• Drive the PCBA Manufacturing Qualification process at the CM and define manufacturing readiness requirements
• Lead identifying and validating product/component risks and work with design teams to mitigate them
• Drive closure of all operational issues during pre-production builds and optimize manufacturing processes
• Investigate failures/defects in production and identify root causes to prevent reoccurrence
• Actively monitor the success of products and processes through production ramp and provide regular status reports
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers while working with multiple vendors and ODMs
