The AWS Graviton Software team is looking for Software Engineers to enhance performance for AWS Graviton, which provides exceptional price/performance in AWS data centers. The role involves optimizing a wide range of applications, including databases and machine learning workloads, while working with various programming languages and tools. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn from experienced team members and contribute to impactful projects. This position offers a unique chance to influence how software operates within AWS.
Requirements
- Experience programming in languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.
- Strong interests and academic qualifications in compiler design and optimization, computer architecture, systems programming, or program analysis.
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Experience contributing to open-source compiler projects like LLVM or GCC.
- Familiarity with performance profiling and micro-architectural optimization on ARM-based processors.
- Knowledge of optimization techniques such as polyhedral models or graph-based scheduling.
- Ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions effectively.
- Comfort with ambiguous problems and ability to think abstractly.
Responsibilities
- Enhance architectures and algorithms for optimal performance.
- Use tools like Aperf and perf to identify performance bottlenecks.
- Monitor and analyze processor, OS, and workload metrics.
- Optimize software performance for AWS customers and services.
- Contribute to Linux kernel improvements and other open source projects.
- Develop analysis frameworks and automation systems.
- Enhance APerf, the open-source Rust-based performance tool.
- Create new performance analysis features and maintain automation solutions.
