Job description

The role is for a software engineer on the AWS Network Firewall team, focusing on developing services that protect web applications from evolving threats. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable distributed systems for AWS Network Firewall
  • Implement deep packet inspection and traffic analysis features to mitigate network threats
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements and translate them into working software
  • Own the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment and operational support
  • Contribute to system architecture decisions and drive technical direction for new feature development
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while participating in code reviews
  • Develop automation and tooling to improve operational efficiency and system reliability
  • Analyze and resolve complex production issues, performing root cause analysis
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence
