Job description

The Developer Experience team at Apple focuses on providing tools for software development across Apple's innovative platforms, including Xcode. This role is for a manager who will bridge the gap between agentic coding, internal and external relationships, and Apple's platforms. The position involves integrating new models, building relationships with various teams, and researching new protocols and standards. The ideal candidate will be creative, curious, and self-motivated, with a passion for enhancing the developer experience.

Requirements

  • Experience managing or technically leading a team of engineers shipping production software.
  • Constant curiosity to learn new technologies and discover new techniques.
  • Clear, open, and collaborative communication skills.
  • Ability to react to multiple sources of feedback and guide team efforts accordingly.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to write clean, maintainable code.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.
  • Familiarity with building LLM backed features, especially evaluations.
  • Familiarity with Swift and Apple's developer ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate new models into the development tools.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external teams.
  • Evaluate new techniques to optimize the development process.
  • Research and implement new protocols and standards.
  • Lead a team of engineers in delivering key frameworks for Developer Intelligence.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
