Job description

The role is part of Apple's innovative reliability team, specifically focusing on the iPhone system reliability. Engineers in this position are tasked with ensuring that Apple products meet high standards of robustness, durability, and reliability. The main focus is on developing and executing comprehensive test methodologies, performing failure analysis, and collaborating with various design teams. This position offers the opportunity to impact the product lifecycle from early concept to mass production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science with 3+ years of industry experience
  • Collaborative attitude and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Familiarity with failure analysis methodology to identify root cause
  • Ability to create clear and concise presentations using Keynote and Excel
  • Familiarity with Tableau for building dashboards
  • Ability to travel internationally without restriction
  • Demonstrated passion for engineering products with exceptional reliability
  • Master's degree or PhD in engineering or science for new college graduates
  • Statistical experience with Weibull, JMP, or accelerated test models
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or other languages for data extraction and reliability analysis
  • Experience with AI/ML tools for workflow automation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with various failure analysis techniques
  • Experience in collaboration between multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform novel test methodologies to validate product robustness
  • Lead failure analysis to establish root cause and corrective actions
  • Work cross-functionally with product design, electrical, quality, and manufacturing teams
  • Contribute to data automation and run risk assessments
  • Build and maintain reliability data dashboards on Tableau
  • Adopt emerging AI/ML tools to streamline workflow
  • Communicate effectively with technicians and senior executives
  • Solve complex electromechanical and mechanical design challenges
