Job description

As a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) at AWS, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems in Amazon-owned data centers. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the highest standards of construction quality and safety. You will tackle complex challenges and contribute to the continuous improvement of commissioning processes. Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

Responsibilities

  • Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Review design documents and equipment submittals
  • Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and manage third-party commissioning vendors
  • Audit commissioning vendors' activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Regularly report commissioning progress and metrics to the Regional Commissioning Manager
  • Coordinate site activities and prioritize tasks across AWS engineering, capacity delivery, operations, and contractor teams
