The Software Development Engineer role on the EC2 Server Provisioning team focuses on building the software infrastructure that transforms hardware into cloud services for EC2 customers. This team is critical in managing the lifecycle of EC2 instances and ensuring operational excellence without downtime. Engineers will work with technical leaders to refine direction and deliver high-quality code. The position requires a strong understanding of distributed systems and a passion for cloud computing.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices
Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of software development including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing.
- Work closely with EC2 Principal Engineers to refine technical direction.
- Deliver features with minimal direct oversight.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
- Drive continuous improvement in software development processes.
