Job description

The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) role at AWS involves overseeing the testing and validation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure in data centers. You will work with a diverse team to ensure construction quality meets engineering designs and customer requirements. The position requires collaboration across various teams to deliver high standards of safety and security while managing project budgets. Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures
  • Strong communication skills, detail oriented, and highly organized

Responsibilities

  • Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Review design documents and equipment submittals for accuracy
  • Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and manage third-party commissioning vendors
  • Audit commissioning vendor activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Regularly report commissioning progress and metrics to the Regional Commissioning Manager
