Job description
The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) role involves overseeing the testing and validation of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure. The CxE will work within a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure construction quality meets engineering designs and customer requirements. This position requires collaboration across various teams to address technical issues and improve commissioning processes. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and the delivery of high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years of relevant discipline work experience
- High technical competency in either mechanical or electrical or control systems utilized in critical infrastructures
- Ability to understand design concepts by reviewing mechanical or electrical design documentation
- Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook required
- Strong communication skills, detail oriented, and highly organized
Responsibilities
- Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
- Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
- Manage third-party commissioning vendors during onsite testing
- Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
- Communicate lessons learned and collaborate on program improvements
- Develop and review commissioning documentation such as test plans, scripts, and reports
- Coordinate site activities and prioritize tasks across various teams
