Job description
The Applications Engineer will join a diverse team in Phoenix, AZ, focusing on customer support and product development within the semiconductor manufacturing sector. This role involves providing technical expertise through product demonstrations, customer training, and troubleshooting semiconductor yield issues. The engineer will also develop solutions to customer problems and contribute to the creation of training materials and best practices. Opportunities for collaboration with various teams and travel to customer sites are integral to this position.
Requirements
- Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience or Bachelor's Level Degree and 2 years related work experience.
- Educational background in Engineering or Physics is desired.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach are essential.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Training in semiconductor or related fields is necessary, with a background in IC processing or semiconductor equipment being a plus.
- Candidate must be willing to travel more than 30% within the US.
Responsibilities
- Provide product penetration and adoption support, customer demonstrations, and head-to-head activities at customer facilities.
- Investigate semiconductor manufacturing yield issues and provide inspection solutions.
- Create and share product value statements and use-cases with engineering, marketing, and sales groups.
- Train customers and other applications engineers on product usage.
- Generate best known method documents and other training materials for KLA's worldwide Applications team.
- Work with customers to develop solutions to problems and publish papers at industry symposiums or in technical journals.
- Characterize next generation semiconductor wafer inspection products by crafting test plans and performing data analysis.
