Job description
The Senior Software Development Engineer role in the Intelligent Cloud Hosting (ICON) team focuses on developing innovative software products that enhance engineers' productivity at Amazon. The team aims to automate infrastructure operations using generative AI and agentic architectures, significantly impacting the efficiency and security of Amazon's services. Candidates will lead the design and implementation of large-scale services while collaborating with technical stakeholders to meet the needs of the e-Commerce platform. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to navigate a dynamic environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Drive business decisions in collaboration with the team
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions
- Provide insightful code reviews and take ownership of outcomes
- Ensure a high standard of quality for all team deliverables using software engineering best practices
- Write high-quality distributed system software
- Work in an agile, startup-like development environment
