Job description
As a Senior Reliability & Test Engineer at Fauna, you will lead the development of the reliability discipline and test engineering function for robotic hardware products. This hands-on role involves defining reliability strategies, validation standards, and overseeing the entire product lifecycle from prototypes to field operations. You will work with a team focused on making robotics accessible and enjoyable, contributing to the creation of robots that interact seamlessly with people. Your efforts will help ensure that Fauna's products meet high performance and reliability standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, test engineering, or hardware validation for electromechanical products
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience developing and executing reliability validation plans for hardware products
- Experience defining or deploying production test systems in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading failure analysis and root-cause investigations for hardware failures
- 7+ years of reliability and test engineering experience
- Background in robotics, consumer electronics, industrial automation, or complex electromechanical systems
- Hands-on experience developing test software and automation using Python, LabVIEW, or related test frameworks
- Proficiency in statistical reliability methods, including Weibull analysis and design of experiments
Responsibilities
- Build the reliability engineering discipline by defining reliability requirements and validation targets
- Own the product reliability and test strategy across development milestones
- Design and execute reliability qualification programs, including various testing methods
- Analyze reliability test results and drive design or process changes based on findings
- Lead the test engineering function for robotic hardware products, including test strategy and execution quality
- Define and own production test strategy at contract manufacturers
- Lead failure analysis and root-cause investigations across reliability and production failures
