Job description

As a Senior Software Development Engineer on the FireTV recommendations team, you will focus on developing and enhancing features that help customers discover content. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to evaluate technical approaches and prototype solutions to complex challenges. The team values thoughtful problem-solving and open communication, aiming to build the next generation of recommendation capabilities. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • Experience in the field of content recommender systems
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain core features for FireTV's browse experience
  • Collaborate with team members to investigate technical approaches and prototype new capabilities
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of new systems and improvements to existing infrastructure
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and troubleshoot issues
  • Perform data deep dives to understand customer behavior and design A/B experiments
