Job description

The Acceleration-focused Engineer role at Fauna Robotics involves using AI agents to enhance software development processes. This hands-on position requires building and maintaining CI/CD systems, automated test environments, and developer workflows to improve engineering velocity and software quality. The team is dedicated to creating accessible robotics solutions that integrate hardware and software seamlessly. The engineer will play a crucial role in embedding AI-native tooling into engineering workflows, ensuring rapid and reliable development feedback loops.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on CI/CD infrastructure, developer tools, or build systems
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one other infrastructure automation language
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with a focus on speed and reliability at scale
  • Experience with Linux-based OS development and deployment
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows
  • Experience with containerization and build environment management
  • Experience with build systems and cross-compilation for embedded or multi-architecture targets
  • Experience building on-target test infrastructure that deploys and validates software on physical hardware
  • Experience with OTA update frameworks or software deployment systems for embedded or IoT devices
  • Experience building developer-facing dashboards or observability tooling
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure for data pipelines, telemetry collection, or fleet management
  • Background in robotics, consumer electronics, autonomous vehicles, or other complex embedded product development
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain infrastructure decisions and trade-offs

Responsibilities

  • Own the systems that keep the development feedback loop fast and reliable as AI-driven development increases code throughput
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated test environments, and developer-facing tooling across a complex embedded platform
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines supporting parallel build, test, and deployment across multiple compute targets
  • Build automated test infrastructure that scales with high commit volume and provides fast feedback loops
  • Embed AI-native tooling and agentic automation into engineering workflows to reduce manual intervention
  • Develop on-target deployment automation for target hardware to provide hardware-validated feedback
  • Own image build, release management, and OS image composition including versioning and traceability
  • Define and track engineering effectiveness metrics and build developer-facing dashboards
  • Maintain OTA update infrastructure and data collection pipelines for software testing and telemetry analysis
  • Design and maintain containerized build and development environments to minimize friction in the development loop
  • Ensure software supply chain integrity through reproducible builds and access controls

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
