JobsSystems Development Engineer
Job description
In this role, you will provide independent support for search-related issues at Amazon, focusing on delivering high-quality work and understanding customer pain points. You will design and develop tools to address emerging problems while maintaining existing self-service issue resolution tools. Strong problem-solving skills are essential as you will identify and develop automated solutions to key issues. Collaboration with Technical Program Managers and development teams will be crucial to troubleshoot complex features and coordinate defect resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
- Experience with programming or scripting languages like Python, Java, C, or C++.
- Experience with Linux/Unix.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline build processes.
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
- Knowledge of distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
- Knowledge of search algorithms and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new tools to solve emerging problems.
- Maintain and improve existing self-service issue resolution tooling.
- Continuously identify areas for improvement of self-service by evaluating ticket metrics and logs.
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers and development team members to troubleshoot complex features.
- Coordinate root cause analysis and defect resolution with the team and key stakeholders.
- Identify search service changes and make independent decisions based on the available information.
- Follow standard operational procedures to resolve emergent issues and escalate to internal search teams.
- Ensure all issues are properly documented and closed.
- Create knowledge-based articles and standard operational procedures to provide related training to various team members.
