The Staff Product Data Scientist Manager for Search Ads at Google will lead a team of data scientists focused on optimizing Google's advertising products. This role involves guiding product development and executive decisions through rigorous data analysis and innovative experiment designs. The manager will work closely with engineering and product management to enhance products and drive long-term business value. The position is critical for contributing to Google's revenue growth in the Search Ads domain.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 10 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL) or 8 years with a Master's degree.
- 3 years of experience as a people manager within a technical leadership role.
- Experience working with digital advertising systems or online advertising metrics.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of junior and senior data scientists, serving as a role model and professional coach.
- Initiate and execute complex statistical analysis and modeling projects to optimize the Search Ads serving system.
- Design and implement innovative experiment designs, statistical models, and measurement frameworks.
- Partner with engineering, product management, and executive leadership to guide product strategy.
- Manage project life-cycles covering problem definition, metrics development, data extraction, and presentation of findings.
