Job description

The Silicon Product and Failure Analysis Engineer at Google Cloud will focus on shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration. This role involves driving the development of custom silicon solutions, particularly for Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) that support Google's AI applications. The engineer will work within a fast-paced team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze and resolve product issues. This position is integral to ensuring high performance and reliability in product readiness and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in product engineering, test engineering, or failure analysis for SoC or ASIC products.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing, wafer processing, chip packaging, or product reliability.
  • Experience with manufacturing yield or Return Material Authorization (RMA).

Responsibilities

  • Work on IC product qualification and drive execution of related tasks.
  • Perform data analysis, characterization, and fault isolation to identify root causes of issues.
  • Conduct yield analysis and correlation analysis for all levels of tests.
  • Define and finalize production screening guard-band specifications based on product design intent.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive suppliers towards product qualification and initial yield ramp.
  • Assist in failure analysis and debugging of field issues while delivering engineering data and reports.
