The Senior Software Engineer, AI/ML, Workspace role at Google focuses on developing next-generation technologies that enhance productivity through Google Workspace applications. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure, including model deployment and evaluation.
  • 3 years of experience in Applied Machine Learning.
  • 3 years of experience with performance optimization and data analysis.
  • 1 year of experience in GenAI/LLM within teams responsible for business metrics on user-facing products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices.
  • Contribute to existing documentation and adapt content based on user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug by analyzing the sources of issues.
  • Design and implement solutions in specialized ML areas and demonstrate expertise.
  • Design, run, and evaluate experiments for training large language models to improve Gmail abuse detection.
