Job description

The Product Engineering Specialist will join the Engineering team at Cummins Inc. in Troy, MI, focusing on high-quality product decisions and efficient project advancement. This role involves providing independent technical leadership and influencing technical direction as a recognized specialist. The specialist will also manage engineering processes and build team capability while ensuring alignment across engineering and manufacturing functions. The position requires a strong background in engineering analysis and design, particularly for axle and suspension components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant STEM field is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of full-time direct, practical experience in engineering.
  • Experience with off-highway or specialty vehicle products and systems is required.
  • Design experience with structural components such as casting and forging is necessary.
  • Excellent understanding of static analysis and fatigue analysis is required.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with designing large castings and familiarity with Ansys is an added advantage.
