Job description

The role involves working with cross-functional teams to ensure Rivian's quality requirements are met and to manage the quality performance of contract manufacturers. The focus is on driving quality for automotive components and ensuring successful launches of new programs. This position is based in Normal, IL, and is part of the Service Engineering Quality Organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing supplier manufacturing processes and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 1-5+ years of supplier quality engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Technical expertise in automotive component designs and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Geometric Design and Tolerancing (GD&T) and datum structures
  • In-depth knowledge of IATF16949:2016 and understanding of ISO14001

Responsibilities

  • Engage with suppliers for industrialization and readiness for multiple automotive components.
  • Support supplier selection and capability assessment for both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Drive APQP discipline and enforce PPAP requirements to ensure supplier compliance.
  • Develop and track industrialization project KPIs to measure supplier readiness.
  • Evaluate and validate supplier manufacturing processes through audits and assessments.
  • Optimize supplier manufacturing scalability during ramp-up phases.
  • Monitor supplier industrialization performance through various KPIs.
  • Facilitate problem resolution using structured methodologies to address defects and process deviations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams for cost optimization.
