The Goldman Sachs Regulatory Policy team is focused on regulatory advocacy and advising senior management on the implications of regulatory developments. The candidate will monitor and analyze domestic and international regulatory changes, particularly regarding regulatory capital. This role involves collaboration with various departments to assess the impact of regulations on transactions and business initiatives. The position also includes preparing board materials and public disclosures while continuously monitoring industry data.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in a relevant field
- Prior experience in a policy function at the Federal Reserve or similar regulatory authority is preferred
- Experience drafting advocacy in response to proposed regulatory rulemakings within financial services
- Ability to interpret regulatory and supervisory guidance and draft policies accordingly
- Experience evaluating the capital implications of proposed new activities or transactions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Responsibilities
- Monitor and summarize the impact of proposals for new international and US-specific regulatory capital rules and legislation
- Communicate the impact of regulatory developments to senior managers and other impacted areas
- Assess the impact of capital regulation on individual transactions and new products
- Provide expertise and advice on regulatory rules and changes to various business areas
- Participate in project work related to changes in regulatory rules and support their implementation
- Assess the industry impact of proposed changes to regulatory capital rules
- Contribute to the analysis of the firm’s regulatory disclosures and interpret new requirements
- Engage in the supervisory process by responding to regulator inquiries and conducting annual assessments
- Prepare materials related to capital and stress testing for the firm’s Board of Directors
