The Microsoft Windows Security team is seeking a Security Engineer II to enhance the security of Microsoft Windows products and devices, focusing on offensive security and engineering mitigations. This hands-on role involves uncovering novel attack vectors, developing proof-of-concept mitigations, and collaborating with product engineering teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in native code, penetration testing, and OS security fundamentals. The position is critical for maintaining high security standards and proactively defending against cybersecurity threats.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in security or related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in security or related field.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Participate in security reviews to identify and mitigate risk in Microsoft products.
- Act as the security contact for teams developing new products and technologies.
- Identify security vulnerabilities in key OS features such as network protocols and security features.
- Leverage current security knowledge to devise new protections.
- Interact with the external security community and security researchers.
- Collaborate with product teams to improve security and articulate the business value of security investments.
