Job description

Microsoft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Azure Data engineering team, focusing on building intuitive and high-performance front-end experiences for real-time analytics. The role involves transforming complex data and streaming scenarios into user-friendly web applications within Microsoft Fabric. The engineer will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to create accessible and responsive user experiences. This position emphasizes a strong passion for front-end engineering and the ability to deliver impactful solutions that enhance customer engagement with real-time data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python is preferred.
  • Experience building modern web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or similar technologies.
  • Strong customer focus and the ability to simplify complex technical workflows through thoughtful design and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver modern front-end experiences using industry-standard web technologies and frameworks.
  • Build intuitive, accessible, responsive, and performant user interfaces that help customers discover, analyze, and act on real-time data.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX Design, and engineering partners to translate customer needs into impactful user experiences.
  • Develop maintainable, production-ready code and contribute to engineering excellence through code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement.
  • Use telemetry, experimentation, and customer feedback to measure success and drive ongoing improvements in usability and performance.
