Job description

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Support Engineer to maintain and support internally developed test equipment in lab and production environments. The role requires hands-on hardware work, RF cabling, system troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position is crucial for ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of Support Engineering or related work experience, or Associate's degree and 2+ years of experience, or High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience.
  • Completed advanced degree in a relevant field may substitute for up to one year of work experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent military training.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in test engineering, lab support, or technical operations.
  • Working knowledge of RF systems, cables, connectors, Linux command line troubleshooting, hardware installation, and basic networking concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain internally built test systems and platforms.
  • Support system upgrades, modifications, and hardware integrations.
  • Execute RF cabling, connector installation, and signal path verification.
  • Perform hardware installations including installing system components in racks and hardware upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot RF and hardware-related issues to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Diagnose system issues using Linux command line tools.
  • Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of servers, network switches, and lab IT systems.
  • Track, manage, and maintain internal and external test equipment inventory.
  • Assist during calibration events and site-wide maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, issues, and resolutions through ServiceNow work orders and tickets.
