Job description

Qualcomm is seeking an experienced Chipset Power System Engineer to tackle power challenges and develop innovative solutions for optimizing power in Snapdragon chipsets. The role involves leading a cross-functional engineering team to model SOC/chipset power and enhance low power consumption. The engineer will participate in all design and development stages, focusing on power-efficient solutions. This position requires collaboration with various teams to achieve power targets and customer-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field is required as a minimum.
  • 15 years of professional experience in low power features analysis and design at SOC, chipset, or platform level is preferred.
  • Architectural knowledge in application processor, modem processor, AR/VR, machine learning, IoT, automotive, or computing is preferred.
  • Experience in hardware or software design or optimizations of low power features is required.
  • Proficiency in system level power modeling and analysis is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct power architecture and tradeoff analysis.
  • Perform chipset and system level power modeling, analysis, and optimization for SOC, chipset, and platform solutions.
  • Identify power requirements and quantify power gap/risk areas.
  • Optimize power efficiency and performance of current generation designs and help architect future products.
  • Guide multi-function groups through the design cycle to realize the power targets set forth at the project's inception.
  • Design power features and collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, software, hardware, silicon process, and production test.
  • Engage with customers to promote chipset capabilities and address specific power requirements.
  • Model power for customer-specific use cases and designs.
