Job description
As a Qualcomm Video Engineer, you will contribute to the research and development of video codec and computer vision hardware. This role focuses on enhancing video playback experiences and creating innovative devices across various sectors, including Mobile, Automotive, and IoT. You will have opportunities to learn and grow within a collaborative environment. Your work will involve both hardware and software aspects of video systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
- 1+ year of applicable video hardware and/or systems experience.
- 1+ year of experience with hardware system design, system integration, schematic capture, and circuit simulation software.
- 1+ year of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
- 1+ year of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
- Apply Video and Computer Vision Engineering knowledge to assist in the research and development of video codec and computer vision hardware.
- Assist in the design, development, implementation, and verification of video systems and hardware and firmware tasks.
- Perform architecture, standard study, algorithm, and feature decomposition for hardware development.
- Ensure KPIs, systems performance, and area and power metrics are met.
- Triages problems to determine root causes and provides recommendations to fix and/or improve.
- Collaborate with team members and customers to analyze product requirements for new architecture and existing designs.
- Contribute to a specific video subsystem and develop basic features and components in line with product proposals or roadmaps.
- Write detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for projects.
