Job description

The role is for a Software System Integration Test (SSIT) Engineer within Qualcomm's AISW engineering team, focusing on the Delegates portfolio including ONNX Runtime and TFLite. The engineer will work closely with software engineers to define test strategies early in the development process and ensure feature quality before transitioning to QA. This position emphasizes a shift-left quality approach, making the engineer a co-owner of feature quality from inception. The role requires strong collaboration and technical skills to validate on-device behavior and automate testing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
  • Strong Python programming skills with hands-on experience in building automated test frameworks.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ sufficient to debug delegate and runtime issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in subsystem or integration testing within a hardware/software product development cycle.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms and integrating test automation into build pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with delegate engineers to define testability requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Own the SSIT test strategy for each feature, including scope, entry/exit criteria, and risk-based prioritization.
  • Develop and maintain automated test content targeting subsystem boundaries.
  • Validate on-device behavior on Snapdragon SoCs under real hardware conditions.
  • Triage failures and isolate root causes across the delegate stack.
  • Define and own handoff criteria from SSIT to QA and SIT, ensuring clear documentation.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between the Delegates development team and QA/SIT.

Benefits

  • Qualcomm offers competitive compensation, annual bonuses, stock programs, comprehensive healthcare coverage, retirement plans, wellness programs, parental leave, flexible work options, and professional development opportunities.
