Job description

As a Support Engineer at Qualcomm, you will play a vital role in enhancing product reliability and supporting the product development life cycle. You will work closely with other engineers to resolve technical system issues and contribute to product improvements. This position offers numerous opportunities for learning and growth within the engineering development space. You will be expected to work independently and influence key organizational decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience, or Associate's degree and 3+ years of experience, or High School Diploma and 4+ years of experience.
  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may substitute for up to two years of work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Certification in Electronics or related area is preferred.
  • Military experience or training in electronics field (Rank E5+ 2 years) is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience with digital HW, SW, and/or analog RF troubleshooting and debugging is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in a lab environment is preferred.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports is preferred.
  • 2+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide organizational or development support from initial concept through completion phases of projects.
  • Execute modifications and revisions of electronic parts, software, system, components, or circuitry.
  • Provide support for engineers and recommendations on design approaches, layout, and parameters for mid-sized projects.
  • Install, upgrade, configure, and help operate company products and/or components based on specifications, tolerances, and reliability.
  • Monitor product performance, analyze moderately complex failures or malfunctions, and suggest corrective action.
  • Gather, integrate, and interpret data and information from multiple sources and stakeholders to understand moderately complex specifications and help develop solutions.
  • Collaborate with individuals inside and outside of own function to integrate projects and/or ensure changes work with other components of a specific project.
