Job description
Qualcomm's Multimedia R&D Group is seeking candidates to join its Speech team, focusing on developing innovative technologies for real-time communication and collaboration. The team conducts fundamental research in signal processing and machine learning, aiming to enhance human interaction through speech and gestures over wireless devices. Candidates will work on advanced use cases that integrate various communication modalities and contribute to the development of new conversational speech codecs. This role requires technical excellence and creativity to push the boundaries of human-to-human and human-to-machine communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
- Experience with digital signal processing techniques including signal modeling, spectrum analysis, and filter design.
- Experience with Deep Learning architectures such as CNN, RNN, LSTM/GRU, and Transformer.
- Programming skills in C/C++ and Python, with experience in Windows or Unix/Linux development environments.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental research in signal processing and machine learning.
- Develop advanced use cases for human interaction combining various communication modalities.
- Research, develop, and standardize new conversational speech codecs for wireless networks.
- Develop technologies for real-time communication in virtual and augmented reality applications.
- Design and implement embedded neural network models, including optimization and quantization.
