Job description
The Director/Principal level Customer Project Engineer for the Automotive Software Platform team at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. will oversee the entire lifecycle of automotive software projects. This role involves analyzing project requirements, preparing schedules, and coordinating team tasks to ensure timely and quality project completion. The engineer will interface directly with OEM engineering executives and Qualcomm leadership, representing customer needs and driving alignment across various teams. The position requires strong technical leadership and the ability to manage complex software engineering projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years, or a PhD with 6+ years.
- 4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Extensive experience in software engineering, including project management and leadership roles.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Proven experience as a customer-facing technical leader.
Responsibilities
- Act as the chief technical counterpart to the OEM’s engineering leadership for all Cockpit (IVI), ADAS and related programs.
- Lead and manage automotive software engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with the customer’s engineering executives, architects, and program leads.
- Coordinate and synchronize Qualcomm internal engineering teams to meet customer milestones.
- Drive resolution of critical technical issues, ensuring timely escalation and clear communication.
- Represent the customer’s priorities and constraints in internal reviews and management meetings.
- Guide and mentor cross-functional Qualcomm teams working on the customer.
